What is the story behind Madame Tussauds Wax Museum? It is a wax museum first opened in London with smaller museums in major cities across the world. Marie Grosholtz, born in 1761, better known as Madam Tussaud, was born into a family of public executioners. Her mother, who was a widow, was the housekeeper of famous anatomist and wax maker, Philippe Curtius. He taught Marie all there was to know about the art of wax sculpture. Madame Tussauds Museum in Baker Street, London, is now one of the most iconic tourist attractions.
Sadly, on December 30, 2020, the holding company of Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in Delhi, India confirmed a shutdown of the Museum. It reopened in 2022 in Mall of India in Noida.
Visiting this place, which was located in an iconic location of Regal Cinema, was indeed a beautiful experience!
Speaking of Regal Theatre, it was built way back in 1932 and was the biggest then. It closed down in March 2017. It was given to Madame Tussauds in 2016 to house the wax statues.
